Warwick Cider Days set for Nov. 7 on Town Common
Warwick will hold Cider Days on the Town Common Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to noon, inviting residents of all ages to crank a cider press and taste fresh apple cider.
The town of Warwick announced that Warwick Cider Days will take place Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to noon on the Town Common, near the Historical Society Building. The event will go on rain or shine.
Residents of all ages are invited to take part in making old-fashioned apple cider by cranking a cider press. Paper cups will be provided so attendees can taste the cider, and those who want to take some home are encouraged to bring a wide-mouthed glass jar. Participants may also bring their own apple drops or apples, though the town said people are welcome to come simply to watch and enjoy the process.
The town said it hopes the event will be the first of many cider pressings on the Town Common, with next year's gathering planned for the first weekend in October.
Dick and Pat Shepardson, described in the announcement as accomplished cider makers, offered their expertise for the event. The town thanked them for their help.
The cider press used for the event was purchased with funding from the Warwick Celebrations Account.
